HIGH LEVEL MEETING REVIEW UP GRADATION OF SCHOOLS AND HOSPITALS IN LYARI

Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed has issued directive for up gradation of schools, hospitals and maternity homes in Lyari with the posting of doctors, paramedical staff, teachers and non teaching staff in these hospitals and schools. He was addressing to a meeting held in his office to review and discuss the problems facing by residents of Lyari especially with regard to schools and health care centers. Municipal Commissioner KMC Matanat Ali Khan, MPA Saleem Hango, Senior Director Health Services, Director Education and other high officials attended the meeting. Administrator Karachi said buildings of five maternity homes as many dispensaries, a general hospital and eye hospital were being renovated soon while the postings of doctors, paramedics and non paramedic staff in these hospitals and dispensaries will be made in next fifteen days along with the provision of ambulances, generator and other latest equipments. 
He said if required doctors and paramedical staff will be appointed on contract basis for medical institutions in Lyari. People from Lyari should be given preference in appointments for Medical Institutions in Lyari. Senior Director Health Services on this occasion informed Administrator Karachi that monthly 7 to 8 Lac rupees were incurred on the medical institutions in Lyari. The Director Education said that a total of 61 schools were located in Lyari out of which 48 were primary schools where 247 teachers imparts education to about eight thousand students. Four of the school buildings were renovated recently while repairing and construction of 11 other schools buildings underway. Administrator KMC directed to establish model school in Lyari on the lines of 24 other model schools in Karachi. It was decided to hold weekly meetings to review and provide better medical and educational facilities to people in Lyari.
