Lyari Town presents Rs608m budget


Nazim Lyari Town Mahmood Hashim presented budget for fiscal year 2009-10 with a total outlay of Rs608.332m at a special session of the town council held here yesterday. At his budget speech, Nazim Lyari said that Rs430m revenue is estimated to be recovered in the head of Octroi Zila Tax (OZT). Rs324.8m has been allocated for salaries, Rs31.1m for uplift works and Rs90.6m for current expenses.
Addressing the session, Nazim said that the income sources of Lyari are very limited; adding OZT fund being provided by the Sindh Government is one of the big sources of the town income.

TMA Lyari believes on ground accomplishment of uplifts projects: Hashim

Nazim Lyari Town Mehmood Hashim has said that they believed on ground accomplishment of uplifts projects.
This he said while inspecting the CC flooring and road patching works at Taj Mosque Road, Agra Taj, Union Council No.1. Talking to area people, Nazim said that they were believed timely completion of ongoing uplift projects which are being carried out in the jurisdiction of the town while we were serving the area people without any discrimination of cast, colour and creed, he added. Mehmood revealed that the said works are being carried out with the estimated cost of Rs.1.5 million and after the completion of these uplifts works relief would be ensured to area people. Naib Nazim, TMO and other town officials accompanied the Nazim.-PR

Lyari Town


Lyari Town is the smallest town by area in the city of Karachi, but also the most densely populated town. It is bordered by the towns of SITE Town to the north across the Lyari River, Jamshed and Saddar to the east, and Kiamari to the west across the main harbour of Karachi.
